innovative workplace INTERIOR FOR leading technology firm

designed with AI Associates

The shift from a traditional office to an activity-based working office represents a fundamental design transformation. Transforming Carl Zeiss Singapore into ABW concept with open cubicles, window view hot desks, and fixed workstations give way to flexible and dynamic spaces.

Design features such as flexible furniture, open floor plans, and technology-enhanced spaces accommodate different work styles. The traditional, unchanging nature of the office is replaced by a dynamic setting that aligns with contemporary work preferences, fostering engagement, productivity, and employee well-being in an ever-evolving business environment.

The design narrative focuses on seamlessly blending technology, nature, and a human-centered perspective. The office’s aesthetic is characterized by a modern, timeless, bright, and spacious feel, shown by choosing a white exposed ceiling concept with white pendant lights. The wooden collaboration pods are designed to facilitate teamwork as well as provide sense of privacy – without creating boundaries and traditional walls. Equipped with acoustic fins, not only do these pods organize the workspace but also act as architectural features, framing the collaboration areas.

We’ve also chosen a neutral and eco-friendly material palette that not only reflects Zeiss’s core values but also fosters a soothing and tranquil environment for our employees. The primary color scheme includes shades of whites and greys, complemented by wooden accents and abundant greenery to infuse warmth and strike a harmonious balance between the elements of nature and technology.

The design language and aesthetic established at the early stage of the project are based on the concept of hospitality, warmth, and timeless elegance executed in a modern manner. The restricted, monochromatic material palette combined with greenery and Impeccable detailing embodies the company values and creates a soothing, calming workplace environment.

The focus on employees needs was one the core principle of our design approach, as the talent attraction and retention have emerged as key issue in post-pandemic world. The new Nucleus office has been designed as the post-pandemic workplace of the future - the platform supporting social connections, collaboration but also focused work, in-person and virtual meetings.

Access to natural light, greenery, various work settings, and technology-enabled meeting and collaboration areas enable end-users to be at their best. The design provides spaces for creativity, collaboration, concentration, and contemplation. Diverse work settings are ranging from quiet focus areas for individual assignments to larger social spaces.

showroom and co-working space in JAKARTA

Furniture showroom in Jakarta designed by Dymitr Malcew is referencing the factory, emphasising a spirit of authenticity and energy. The main goal of the project was to create a unique yet flexible space that functions as an office as well as a showroom. The design concept is based on the story of the furniture factory. The idea was to bring the unique and authentic spirit all the way to Jakarta while adding local influences without being too literal. Visitors are welcomed by a futuristic feature signage wall with a logo reinterpreted in black steel, LED lights and moss used as a backdrop.

Raw and natural finishes and textures such as cement, wood, felt and metal used throughout the space, communicate honesty, authenticity, craft and the human approach. Showroom and office areas are interconnected, however, a screen divider with traditional Indonesian cut-out pattern creates a sense of privacy.

The open ceiling maximises the overall height while walls clad with felt improve the acoustic quality of the open space. The wooden structure “wrapping” the showroom area is inspired by traditional Indonesian construction techniques. Together with a pinnable felt wall, it creates a flexible display system for samples and mockups.

Furniture in the office area is monochromatic white or black, juxtaposed with rustic wooden tops and rattan lamps handmade by local craftsmen. The feature moss wall at the entrance and planters with lush greenery in the showroom area communicate the brand’s sustainability-focused approach as well as visually connects with the surroundings.
