Designed for MDD
Against gravity but with a stability and comfort- the Gravity collection takes the idea of an executive desk to a whole new level. Its sleek and minimalistic form with a “floating” cantilevered worktop, is taking cues from modernist architecture. Harmoniously integrated state of art technology allows the structure appear weightless maximizing stability at the same time. The single leg support is concealed in the cabinet, while height adjustment system allows for a smooth and intuitive change from a sitting to standing position.
Close collaboration between Dymitr Malcew and MDD was essential during the project development stage and its later implementation. The design team created a series of prototypes on the basis of which the end product was built. The mechanism, seamlessly incorporated into the form became invisible. This integration was the biggest challenge of the but simultaneously the drive behind the innovative construction.
The executive desk is complemented with the meeting table and media station, seamlessly transforming into standing position with a press of the button - which is perfect setting for hand-on discussions, brainstorm sessions or remote meetings. Gravity collection is providing maximum flexibility which is a critical factor at today’s workplace. Legless design allows for much more collaborative user experience than the traditional desk.

THE DESIGN IS BLURRING THE LINE BETWEEN PRODUCT AND ARCHITECTURE, INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR, FOCUSING ON THE HUMAN-CENTRIC DESIGN, OFFERING A VISUAL AND ACOUSTIC REFUGE FROM ALL KINDS OF NOISE WITHIN AN OPEN SPACE.
Soft and curvy architectural forms of various sizes are designed to gently wrap around their users within thick, womb-like structures. Pods are modular, allowing for maximum of flexibility in arrangements depending on user’s needs. The sophisticated, neutral and elegant subtle color palette is channelling hotel and residential spaces, projecting comfort and individuality, while soft velvety fabrics provide a highly tactile and sensorial experience.
THE COLLECTION DESIGNED BY DYMITR MALCEW IS CREATED TO SUPPORT MENTAL WELLNESS, A MOMENT OF RESPITE AND RECHARGE, AS WELL AS A SENSE OF BELONGING AND MOMENTS OF PRIVACY – SO IMPORTANT IN INCREASINGLY INTERCONNECTED AND DIGITALIZED ENVIRONMENTS.
